Final Cut

Final Cut is a higher end steakhouse in Hollywood Casino. I’ve been here before, but hadn’t been in a while. My husband and I bought his parents tickets to see Michael Carbonara perform at the Casino, and we went to Final Cut beforehand. This place is one of the best steakhouse’s in the city, and you really can’t go wrong with anything on their menu. I’ve been to Final Cut before but didn’t recall there ever being bread service.  To my surprise, the had one! ๐Ÿ™‚

  • Presentation – .5 Crumbs

The bread came out in a basket, wrapped in a bread towel, nothing special there. The three spreads it came with were just set on the table next to it.  There was really no thought in this presentation other than wrapping the bread to keep it warm.  I wish they thought of a way to place the spreads neatly along with the bread to the bread service less clumsy. You have to pass the bread, and three condiments with it? It’s just too much.

  • Bread Variety – 1 Crumb

Although the only bread served was brioche, it was more than enough.  The bread service already seemed like a lot on the table since the spreads were all in separate containers.  They served an entire loaf of brioche bread which was 6-8 pieces.  More than enough to go around! On top of that, one piece was thick enough to satisfy.

  • Quality of Bread – 1 Crumb

This brioche was melt I your mouth good! Seriously, it was!  The loaf was shaped like which bread, sliced in very thick pieces.  Each slice was good on its own or with a spread.  Chewing was optional…like I said, it literally melts in your mouth.  So, as for the quality of this bread; outstanding! I would love to know where they found this scrumptious brioche so I can eat a slice with every meal!

  • Quality & Quantity of Spread(s) – 1 Crumb

Alongside the brioche loaf they served two different kinds of butter and one marmalade, all of which were made in house.  They had a sea salt butter, apple cinnamon butter and  a strawberry marmalade. The sea salt butter was pretty normal, nothing too special although it was very creamy and light.  The apple cinnamon butter was delicious.  The perfect amount of cinnamon and butter flavor.  I think my husband ate half of this butter by himself. Ha!  The strawberry marmalade had a great flavor, but weird texture.  The flavor was very fresh and the marmalade was very smooth.  It was just very sticky and smooth, almost like a strawberry honey.  It was very good, but just different. Overall this was a very nice array of spreads to accompany brioche.

  • Cost – 1 Crumb

Final Cut gets a full crumb here for its complimentary bread service.  This place has an average entree price of $40, it’s great that they offer a complimentary course.  Of course it’s pretty typical of a steakhouse to have bread service, not all are free.  A huge loaf of bread and three great, homemade spreads is very generous of them.

Overall – 4.5/5

Steakhouse in the casino….you wouldn’t think to find a special bread service like this one would you? I certainly didn’t! Like I said at the beginning, I’ve been to Final Cut, but it was a long time ago and I didn’t recall any bread service.  Final Cut used to serve a beef Wellington, and it was probably the only place in Columbus Ohio you could find one.  Since the last time I eat there they’ve since removed the beef Wellington, but have a bread service.  I will take the bread service over anything else! The only thing I would change would be the presentation.  If they served the bread on a bigger serving dish and put the spreads on it, this would have had a perfect crumb score.  Regardless, it’s pretty darn close! If you’re at the casino and want an evening of elevated food, come to Final Cut.  At least you know you can bet on a good bread service!
